Get To know Jennifer

Jennifer was born with an undeniable love for horses—“horse” was her very first word. Fortunately, her mother shared that passion, and at the age of nine, Jennifer was gifted her first horse, Mariah. The western saddle proved too heavy for her to lift, so she began riding bareback, a practice that naturally cultivated her balanced seat and deep feel for the horse beneath her.

At age 12, Jennifer was introduced to the world of hunter/jumpers, quickly rising through the ranks to earn multiple championship titles in A-Circuit competitions across Colorado, Arizona, and California. At age 12, Jennifer was introduced to the world of hunter/jumpers, quickly rising through the ranks to earn multiple championship titles in A-Circuit competitions across Colorado, Arizona, and California. After graduating high school, she was hired as a working student, where her primary role was to retrain off-track Thoroughbreds (OTTBs)—teaching them to move calmly in both directions and navigate small jumps in preparation for resale as sport horse prospects. It was in this formative environment that Jennifer honed her skills in starting young horses and developed a deep, intuitive understanding of equine psychology.

I In 1995, Jennifer attended a polo match where, during the intermission, a quadrille performed a dressage demonstration. That moment sparked a lifelong devotion to the discipline. By 2000, she imported a Grand Prix schoolmaster who introduced her to the refined language of classical dressage—teaching her the precise aids for flying changes, piaffe, passage, and advanced lateral movements. The experience was transformative, not only deepening her technical skills but also shaping her philosophy: that true communication with the horse is built on clarity, patience, and respect. Combined with her foundation in starting young horses, this period solidified Jennifer’s commitment to the classical training scale and a horse-centered approach that continues to guide her work today.

Today, Jennifer brings decades of hands-on experience to her work, blending technical excellence with a deep understanding of equine development. Today, Jennifer brings decades of hands-on experience to her work, blending technical excellence with a deep understanding of equine development. On horses she trained from foals, she has earned her USDF bronze and silver medals, along with scores toward her gold—achievements underscored by multiple USDF and USEF National and Regional Championship titles. Her clients have also found success, earning awards and championships on horses she helped develop. Jennifer is known for guiding green horses to confident performances in the show arena, while also cultivating their composure and trust outside the ring. Equally skilled as a teacher, she has supported countless beginner riders in progressing through the levels, fostering partnerships built on clarity, confidence, and connection.
